We\u00a0 hear from representatives of communities historically underrepresented in watershed associations or in discussions about environmental health and protection, including\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #950000;\"><strong>Native Americans, communities of color, people with disabilities and those with low income, to name a few.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1093 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dodgemillmuseum.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/D-DORI-2-environmental_racism_the_nation-300x189.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"189\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #950000;\"><strong>Many of these communities are inequitably harmed by impacts to the environment while receiving fewer benefits associated with a healthy environment, such as clean drinking water and access to water recreation.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #950000;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23651\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mybackyardnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/D-DORI-2-environmental_racism_the_nation.jpg\" sizes=\"(max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.mybackyardnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/D-DORI-2-environmental_racism_the_nation.jpg 770w, http:\/\/www.mybackyardnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/D-DORI-2-environmental_racism_the_nation-300x189.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.mybackyardnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/D-DORI-2-environmental_racism_the_nation-768x483.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.mybackyardnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/D-DORI-2-environmental_racism_the_nation-150x94.jpg 150w\" alt=\"\" width=\"770\" height=\"484\" \/><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #950000;\"><strong>In June,\u00a0we discussed the relationship between environmental justice and racism and issued a\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ce;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ce;\" href=\"https:\/\/cts.vresp.com\/c\/?WatershedActionAllia\/ed29c6763b\/b21d4e13ae\/8e3b2ba8f7\">statement<\/a><\/span>\u00a0about our commitment to working for environmental justice.
