Members will have the chance to create inclusive and innovative programs, events, and initiatives with the assistance of RIHS staff. It will provide opportunities to gain leadership experience, collaborate with arts, cultural, and community organizations throughout the region, and to learn about the world of museums and nonprofits.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #950000;\"><strong>Candidates must be between the ages of 14-19 at any point during the 2020 calendar year, be enrolled in grades 9-12 during the 2020-21 school year, and be a resident of Rhode Island. They are also expected to commit to at least one year of service on the board, beginning in September 2020 and concluding in June 2021.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #950000;\"><strong>The application is available now at <a style=\"color: #950000;\" href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3hfNWHw\"><span style=\"color: #0000f2;\">https:\/\/bit.ly\/3hfNWHw<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #950000;\"><strong>The application deadline is Sunday, September 13. In Providence, the RIHS owns and operates the John Brown House Museum, a designated National Historic Landmark, built in 1788; the Aldrich House, built in 1822 and used for administration and public programs; and the Mary Elizabeth Robinson Research Center, where archival, book and image collections are housed.
