When the possibility emerged of presenting a sweet taste of\u00a0The Nutcracker<\/em>\u00a0to our beloved audience in the open air, we couldn\u2019t turn it down. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Having presented\u00a0\u00a0The Nutcracker<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0in Providence for more than four decades, we\u2019ve seen the delight in the eyes of audiences of all ages. We know what a magical gift this ballet can be.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

COVID-19 had other plans. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In light of the pandemic\u2019s surge in Rhode Island and across the country, and with the safety of our audience and community in mind,\u00a0\u00a0in person performances of our\u00a0Nutcracker Sweets!<\/em>\u00a0program will not move forward as scheduled.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This decision was made at the direction of public health officials from the Dept. of Business Regulation and RI Commerce Corporation.\u00a0Patrons with tickets will be contacted by the box office to resolve their order.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We are planning a filmed version of this new choreography to give our community a chance to delight in the magic of\u00a0The Nutcracker<\/em>\u00a0. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The on-demand version will be offered to the community in time for the holiday, free of charge. We can\u2019t wait to share this with you.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Much like the story of\u00a0\u00a0The Nutcracker<\/em>\u00a0, this journey has been full of magical moments, unique challenges, and unexpected delights. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

To the artists and students who poured your heart and souls into preparing for this program, and to those in our community who cheered us on with messages of love and support,\u00a0\u00a0Thank You\u00a0.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Your optimism and enthusiasm is the bright light that illuminates our world and guides us as we move forward, together.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
