December 2020 School Vacation Week at the\u00a0Audubon Nature Center and Aquarium, Bristol, RI<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

(December 16, 2020) \u2013 Don\u2019t know what to do with the kids during the school vacation break?\u00a0 Audubon is the solution!\u00a0 With plenty of outdoor family programs, Audubon is the place for safe and frosty fun!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Rhode Island COVID-19 safety guidelines will be followed for all programs. Small groups are led by Audubon naturalists. Family units are encouraged to participate together. Masks and social distancing are required. Participants must bring their own masks.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

December 28\u00a0\u201330, 2020; \u00a010:00 am \u2013 2:30 pm<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

December 31, 2020; 10:00 am-12:00 pm (no afternoon programs)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Bundle up and join Audubon for outdoor winter fun for all ages.\u00a0 Special outdoor programs following COVID-19 safety guidelines are available each day and are free with admission. Registration is not required, but space may be limited due to COVID-19 restrictions.\u00a0Note that schedule is subject to change as programs will be held outdoors and are weather dependent.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Take-home nature crafts will be available for children each day, and if the weather permits there will be a nature story on our covered patio or outdoor pavilion at 10:30 am and 2:30 pm as well as an animal interview at 1:30 pm.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The special programs noted below are also available each day at 11:00 am.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

These programs are recommended for children ages 6+:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Monday, December 28:\u00a0Sensory Trail\u00a0\u2013 Rediscover what your five senses are all about! Travel along our sensory trail following prompts to fully experience the nature around you.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Tuesday, December 29:\u00a0Surviving the Cold!\u2013 It\u2019s cold out there! Join Audubon to conduct\u00a0some experiments and find out how animals survive the winter.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Wednesday, December 30:\u00a0Veggie Stamp Printing\u00a0\u2013 Make some unique cards for any\u00a0occasion\u00a0using stamps made out of vegetables. (Weather dependent.)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Thursday, December 31:\u00a0Winter Nature Hike\u2013 Bundle up for an invigorating walk around the beautiful refuge before ringing in the New Year!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
