Wickford Art \u2013 Third Exhibit of 2021: PUSH-PULL-PRINT, celebrating traditional printmaking<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

North Kingstown (RI) \u2013 The Wickford Art Association launches a new exhibit this year with Push-Pull-Print, a celebration of hand-rubbed printing techniques on a number of surfaces including paper, linen, textile, or other materials at the discretion of the artist.\u00a0 Push-Pull-Print will open at our North Kingstown Beach Street Gallery on Friday- March 12, 2021.\u00a0 The open 2-D exhibit will be curated and prizes will be issued by jurist Carol Fitz Simonds- csfitzsimonds.com<\/a><\/span>, an artist whose work in drawing, printing, and artist books has been acknowledged through award by numerous venues and organizations including the Providence Art Club, the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club (NY), Imago Foundation for the Arts, Mystic Arts Center (CT), American Artists Professional League (NY), Newport Art Museum, American Color Print Society (PA), Spring Bull Gallery, Cape Cod Art Association (MA), among others.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

According to Fitz Simonds, she \u201clove(s) being a printmaker with the possibility to see and try alternatives, the potential in various techniques and materials \u2013 this is what makes me so passionate about this art form. Today\u2019s printmaker has so many choices \u2013 from the traditional methods and materials of stone, wood, and metal to 21st Century polymer plates, plastic, and computer technology. This is a fabulous time to be a printmaker.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

With all works selected through a new online registration system recently launched by Wickford Art Association, Push-Pull-Print will be installed in early March with opening receptions on Friday- March 12 (starting at 3:00pm), with registration for attendance through Brown Paper Tickets.\u00a0 Prize-winning works will be announced opening night through either a live or recorded award ceremony and through social media.\u00a0 The exhibit will be available to the public through April 3, 2021.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

all artists (member and non-member) are encouraged to apply. Through this exclusive exhibit, selected artists will be afforded the opportunity to sell their framed work, plus up to three additional unframed prints through our gallery and webstore.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

All selected works will be placed online for virtual viewing as well, ensuring its accessibility for the community-at-large.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

All programming is subject to change; all juried and judged exhibits will be featured through online virtual galleries as well as in-gallery hours (Wednesday through Saturday: noon to 4pm, Sunday: noon-3pm) at WAA\u2019s beach-front North Kingstown home.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
