{"id":1740,"date":"2021-01-27T16:40:48","date_gmt":"2021-01-27T16:40:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dodgemillmuseum.com\/?p=1740"},"modified":"2021-01-27T16:40:48","modified_gmt":"2021-01-27T16:40:48","slug":"woonsocket-ri-museum-of-work-and-culture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dodgemillmuseum.com\/?p=1740","title":{"rendered":"WOONSOCKET, RI: MUSEUM OF WORK AND CULTURE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #00004e;\"><strong>Museum of Work &amp; Culture Launches New Series of Virtual Walking Tours of Woonsocket Historic Districts\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1741 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dodgemillmuseum.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/F-WOMC-Virtual-Walking-Tours-Banner-300x106.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"106\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #00004e;\"><strong>WOONSOCKET, R.I. \u2013 The Museum of Work &amp; Culture will offer a series bi-weekly virtual walking tours beginning Wednesday, February 10 at 7pm.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #00004e;\"><strong>Each tour will feature a different district, with February 10th highlighting the historic homes of the North End, beginning with the area&#8217;s use as farmland, before making way to homes of wealthy industrialists and eventually a showcase of the work of famed Woonsocket architect, Walter Fontaine.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #00004e;\"><strong>Wednesday, February 24th\u2019s tour will explore the history of Downtown Woonsocket and the homes, businesses, and municipal buildings that helped make the city a bustling hub in Rhode Island in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #00004e;\"><strong>The final tour on Thursday, March 11th will spotlight the city\u2019s historic Franco sites, including the people and places with French Canadian cultural significance.
