All are welcome to attend Linden Place Mansion\u2019s annual meeting on Wednesday, November 13 at 7pm inside the historic home\u2019s parlors at 500 Hope Street, Bristol. The meeting includes a recap of the 30th anniversary year at the 209-year old museum, election of new board members, volunteer awards and a special speaking program by silversmith and conservator, Jeffrey Herman, who recently restored Linden Place\u2019s Gorham silver tea urn that once belonged to Theodora DeWolf Colt.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Linden Place purchased the 1850\u2019s Gorham silver tea set once belonging to Theodora DeWolf Colt, family matriarch and owner of Linden Place during the Victorian era. The tea set is elaborately decorated and considered an extraordinary example of Gorham silver.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Jeffrey Herman has worked with silver since 1976 as a designer, sample maker and technical illustrator at Gorham Silver in Providence and Piltz, Ltd. He is the founder of the Society of American Silversmiths, a Rhode Island-based organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the art of silversmithing in the U.S.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Friends of Linden Place is a non-profit organization responsible for the restoration and preservation of the historic house museum at 500 Hope Street in Bristol, Rhode Island, and for the promotion of cultural, artistic, and educational programs in the community.
