{"id":566,"date":"2020-01-24T16:30:46","date_gmt":"2020-01-24T16:30:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dodgemillmuseum.com\/?p=566"},"modified":"2020-01-24T16:30:46","modified_gmt":"2020-01-24T16:30:46","slug":"museum-of-work-and-culture-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dodgemillmuseum.com\/?p=566","title":{"rendered":"MUSEUM OF WORK AND CULTURE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #00274e; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Museum of Work &amp; Culture Announces Monthly Series for Memory Loss\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #00274e; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Museum to Welcome Lieutenant Governor &amp; Mayor for Ribbon Cutting<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-310 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dodgemillmuseum.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/D-MUSEUM-image00-300x252.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"252\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #00274e; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>(WOONSOCKET, R.I.) \u2013 The Museum of Work &amp; Culture is proud to announce that it will be extending its inclusive programs with\u00a0Living Memories Mondays, a new monthly series focused on individuals with memory loss and their caretakers.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #00274e; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>On Monday, January 27 at 1 pm the Museum will welcome Lieutenant Governor Dan McKee, Woonsocket Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt, and RI Memory Caf\u00e9 founder Laurie Mantz as we cut the ribbon for the new program.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #00274e; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>January\u2019s program will feature a music therapy session led by a Licensed, Board-Certified Neurologic Music Therapist from\u00a0Hands in Harmony, a local nonprofit organization located in Kingston, RI. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in Neurologic Music Therapy interventions to work on memory and recall, fluidity of speech, motor control, range of motion, and response time.\u00a0These events are free and made possible with the generous support of\u00a0CVS Health Charity Classic.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #00274e; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>This series is a part of\u00a0Rhode Island\u2019s Memory Cafe Network, whose mission is to support Rhode Islanders touched by memory loss or cognitive impairment with a community-based support network rooted in camaraderie, fellowship, and comfort.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #00274e; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>As an additional feature of the program, the Museum will be launching a Memory Map developed in collaboration with the Memory &amp; Aging Program at Butler Hospital. This new tool will help caretakers navigate the Museum and provide specially developed questions to help prompt conversations.
