The Newport Historical Society Requests Children\u2019s Help<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Completing the Covid-19 Archival Record<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Newport, RI (May 2020) \u2013 As part of our mission to preserve Newport\u2019s history for future generations, we are looking to create a snapshot of this moment from the perspective of those often underrepresented in the historical record: Children.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\n

To that end, the Newport Historical Society has created a Covid-19 Diary for Children. This diary is aimed at children in kindergarten to fourth grade. <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Parents or children can fill out the pdf form or google form found on the website, or compile their answers and send them to Archivist Kaela Bleho at kbleho@newporthistorical.org<\/a><\/span>. <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t forget to attach a drawing or selfie!\u00a0Parents of children learning to write can help their kids by recording responses on their behalf.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

These entries will be collated and preserved in an archive at the Newport Historical Society.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
