{"id":924,"date":"2020-06-06T14:57:22","date_gmt":"2020-06-06T14:57:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dodgemillmuseum.com\/?p=924"},"modified":"2020-06-06T14:58:17","modified_gmt":"2020-06-06T14:58:17","slug":"risca-artists-grants-and-funds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dodgemillmuseum.com\/?p=924","title":{"rendered":"RISCA: ARTISTS&#8217; GRANTS AND FUNDS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000095;\"><strong>State Arts Council Announces Federal Stimulus Funding for Small and Medium Size Arts Organizations<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000095;\"><strong> <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-925 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dodgemillmuseum.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/E-RISCA-image003.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"96\" height=\"117\" \/><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000095;\"><strong>The Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) announced today the availability of\u00a0COVID-19 emergency funding for small and medium sized arts organization through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.\u00a0 The deadline for applications is June 19, 2020, and RISCA anticipates announcing awards in early July.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000095;\"><strong>This funding comes through the CARES Act, a federal program through the National Endowment for the Arts that supports the non-profit arts community in Rhode Island as it attempts to recover from the financial challenges created by the COVID-19 health crisis.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000095;\"><strong>In this latest funding opportunity, RISCA is making available $75,000 in grants of $3,000 or less to support non-profit arts organizations with budgets under $300,000.\u00a0 RISCA has already awarded funds to its operating support recipients in the first phase of this emergency granting program. The second phase is designed to support small and medium sized non-profit arts organizations who did not participate in Phase I. Funding can be used for salaries, fees for artists or facilities costs for the period from May 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000095;\"><strong>The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act recognizes that the nonprofit arts and culture industry is an important sector of America\u2019s economy. RISCA, on behalf of the National Endowment for the Arts, will award funds to nonprofit arts organizations in Rhode Island to help these entities and their employees endure the economic hardships caused by the forced closure of their operations due to the spread of COVID-19.
