PEDDLER’S FAIRE

The Glocester Heritage Society is hosting its annual Peddlers’ Fair at the historic Job Armstrong Store.

Items to purchase include handcrafted items from local vendors. The Glocester Heritage Society will have historic items for sale, as well.

The Job Armstrong Store, serving as the Heritage Society headquarters, was built about 1813. The store was the largest of 13 dry goods and grocery stores operating during the early 1800s in Chepachet, with four to five clerks working full-time. The building was purchased by the Glocester Heritage Society in 1971 and was gradually restored.
