THE ART OF CHRISTMAS: NOW THRU JANUARY 5th

The Art of Christmas Begins this Week at Linden Place Mansion

Tour the historic mansion to view stunning decorations and original artwork and enjoy a free gift with any purchase in the Gift Shop for Museum Store Sunday!

A towering Christmas tree framed by a four-story spiral staircase, elegant decorations on every mantle and in every nook and cranny, original artwork by top local artists…these are just a few of the many delights that await you this Christmas season at Linden Place Mansion in downtown

Bristol, Rhode Island.

This year, the elegant décor throughout the 1810 mansion is complimented by original artwork by members of the Providence Art Club. Art Club artists included in this special exhibition include Elena Obelenus and Carol Strause FitzSimonds of Bristol, along with fellow artists such as Donato Beauchaine, Karole Nicholson, and Elizabeth Bonner Zimmerman.

Works on view will range in media from paintings to works of fine printmaking. These pieces by contemporary artists will be juxtaposed against period interiors in a show curated by volunteers with connections to both organizations.

This event will be a special opportunity for residents of Bristol and the East Bay to see artworks by artists who primarily exhibit in Providence.

The mansion’s parlors, bedrooms, and magnificent chapel-like Gothic conservatory are also magnificently transformed for your enjoyment.

This Sunday, December 1st, the Linden Place Museum Gift Shop & Gallery will participate in Museum Store Sunday on from 12:00pm-5:00pm.  Museum Store Sunday is a worldwide event that represents over 1,200 museum stores in all fifty states, eighteen countries, and five continents. Linden Place will offer a special shopping experience in our gift shop, featuring unique items from historic books and beautifully crafted jewelry to locally made products, Bristol-themed ornaments, housewares, and stocking stuffers.  Every purchase over $10 will include a free one-of-a-kind gift!

Proceeds from this one-day-only event will go directly towards supporting Linden Place’s mission of preservation and enriching the educational and cultural life of the community. This is a great opportunity to see what the Linden Place gift shop has to offer and support a local business through buying unique holiday gifts for friends, family, and yourself!
