“Seeing RED”

Call for Entries and Exhibit Dates

Wickford Art Association (WAA) will present “Seeing RED” from February 7 to March 1, 2020. Admission to the gallery, located at 36 Beach Street, North Kingstown, RI is free and open to the public.

 

The Call for Entries registration is on Tuesday- February 4 (11am-6pm), Wednesday- February 5 (11am-3pm), and Thursday- February 6 (11am-3pm). Artists may refer to www.wickfordart.org for submission guidelines and entry fees. Call for Entries registration is open to all artists (WAA members or non-members) in any fine art medium.  The theme for the show is the color RED—it’s fierce, signifies love, anger, warmth, danger, passion, war, the color of fire and blood.
Red, as an emotionally intense color, will be interpreted by artists in a variety of ways.

The juror is Anthony Tomaselli, restaurateur, artist, and entrepreneur—known to most Rhode Islander’s as the owner of his 3-restaurant franchise, T’s.

 

The “Seeing RED” reception is on Friday- February 7, 2020 from 6:30-8:30pm at 36 Beach Street, North Kingstown, RI. Anthony Tomaselli will present awards with cash prizes at 7:00pm.

 

The Wickford Art Association is a non-profit organization with over 450 members from Rhode Island and New England. The association hosts art shows and classes in its North Kingstown gallery and has produced the Wickford Art Festival every July since 1962.  Wickford Art Association is dedicated to educating, encouraging and inspiring artists and art lovers throughout the community.
